Hello, writer!
Navigating the path to literary success begins with a compelling query letter—Which can be utterly Daunting.
As an author and experienced agented professional, I know from personal experience the highs and lows of the querying process. It's not just about showcasing your story (Which is a difficult task on it’s own!); it's about striking the perfect balance between uniqueness and clarity, voice and conciseness, creativity and structure. Striking this balance is no short of an art form in its own right.
Through my own personal journey in the query trenches and massive amounts of research, I have developed a deep understanding of this art. I have helped numerous writers shape their queries, putting extra attention into crafting queries that not only sell, but bring forward each writer’s personal vision and get those coveted full requests.
I offer personalized services to elevate your query letter, aligning it closely with industry expectations while ensuring it resonates with your unique voice.
Services Offered:
Query Critique ($45 per critique): In my comprehensive query letter review, I utilize a hands-on approach to enhance your submission. I'll delve into your document, providing meticulous edits and insightful comments directly within the text using ‘commenting mode’/track-changes. This method ensures that my feedback is specific and actionable, focusing on enhancing the overall clarity, narrative flow, and distinct voice of your pitch.
In certain cases I might provide an ‘example query’- where I use the bottom page of the document as a ‘playground’ for possible directions to approach the query in different ways for you to consider to enhance its marketable qualities. My critique aims to effectively introduce your main character, clearly delineate the stakes of your story, and craft an intriguing hook.
Additionally, I will include any other detailed commentary in a follow-up email to further explain my suggestions.
Query critique + 15 min Zoom chat (75$ per critique): This is an extension of my query critique service, where in addition to my written critique we will schedule a one-on-one zoom chat after you get your written notes to discuss them or any other questions you might have about traditional publishing.
** A second written critique pass could also be arranged for an extra 15$ **
